I’m 15 currently and I know Peter Pan is a fictional character but I still believe in him. For me Peter Pan is a symbol. Its all one big analogy for life, Peter Pan and his home of Neverland are the anti-time. He is a symbol for our wishes of stopping time at times when it seems like everything is going wrong. Wendy is all of us, she is the human race she is how we act and she represents the things all of us have experienced. Captain hook and the pirates represent that everything good in the world has its faults. Tigerlily and the Indians represent our friends and family they help us in times of need, sometimes they are in fact the only reason we survive at all. The lost boys symbolize that in order to really succeed you have to detach yourself and take a risk. They are the risks we take and therefor also the ways in which we each succeed. The ticking alligator is our fears and our fate, it follows us around until we get over it is the larger life challenges each of us face. Lastly Tinkerbell is a symbol for the two sides of us, she is the way we think, she’s the voices in our head that make decisions, and she is the little angels and devils sitting on our shoulder. She is perhaps the most important part of us; she is our personality and our character. In this way I have been able to keep my faith in peter pan and visit my own version of Neverland in my dreams at night. In my heart Peter Pan is very real.
